Hey Broncos! We are back with another Club Sports update! SCU has 21 active and competitive Club Sport teams that compete at the local, regional, and national levels against other universities. Each month during the academic year, we ask teams to share updates on what they have been up to. Please note that not Club Sports will report each month.
February is packed with home games for you to attend and support your fellow Broncos! Check the bottom of this email for the full schedule and game times. Go Broncos!
OPEN CLUB SPORTS
SHOTOKAN KARATE

Shotokan Karate brought home 10 medals at the West Coast Championship this past weekend in sparring and forms! Next up, we will be traveling to the University of San Francisco for a joint training session with the University of San Francisco and UC Davis! And to end the quarter, we will be competing at Silicon Valley Open! The team is putting in a lot of work, and it’s paying off. We are always open to new members of any skill level, so if you are interested in joining the fun and learning karate, reach out to jberry@scu.edu.

SWIM TEAM
Hi Broncos! With winter quarter in full swing, we’ve been very busy with practice, meets, and team events. We just had our biggest travel meet of the quarter at UCLA, with a pre-meet pasta dinner the night before we left. We are also excited to compete with UC Berkeley later this month. The team is looking forward to seeing the progress we’ve made and see our hard work at practice pay off! If you have any questions about club swimming or are interested in joining, please email our recruitment coordinator, jaoukar@scu.edu.

MEN'S CLUB SPORTS
MEN'S CLUB BASEBALL
Ranked as the No.5 team in the preseason NCBA Division II poll, the Broncos come into the season with high expectations. With 13 new additions and a strong core of returning players, the Broncos are primed for a deep playoff run and are seeking their first World Series appearance in program history. Our season kicked off on Saturday, February 7 and Sunday February 8 for a three game series against Cal Poly Humboldt.
MEN'S ICE HOCKEY
Men’s Ice Hockey has continued their impressive campaign, boasting an overall record of 15-3 while going 11-1 in conference play. A recent nail biter against San Jose State at the SAP Center unfortunately went the other way, but was a fun experience for all involved. Six Broncos are averaging statlines of over a point per game, with Daniel Bateman ’29 leading the charge at 2.55 points per game. The team will head to Flagstaff, Arizona for the WCHC playoffs at the end of the month with a spot in the national tournament on the line.
WOMEN'S CLUB SPORTS
WOMEN'S RUGBY
Women's Rugby had our first league match of the quarter, taking a big 65-5 win against University of San Francisco! February is a busy month for the BRUWS, with upcoming games almost every weekend. On Saturday, February 14, we will travel to Reno to play University of Nevada, Reno, and we return to Bellomy Field on Saturday, February 21 to play Cal Poly Humboldt.

WOMEN'S CLUB VOLLEYBALL
The Women’s Club Volleyball team is excited to be in the heart of our season! We’ve had some great league matchups recently, including a big win against Stanford and a strong showing at home in Malley against UC Davis. We pushed their A team to five sets and had a successful win over their B team. With the Far Westerns tournament coming up next weekend and more home games on Saturday, February 28, we’re looking forward to what’s ahead and hope to see you there!
