Hello Broncos! It's time for another Club Sports update. SCU has 21 active and competitive Club Sport teams that take on universities at the local, regional, and national levels. Each month during the academic year, we ask teams to share updates on what they have been up to. Not every Club Sport will report each month.
Sending you all the best for your finals and projects! Enjoy the upcoming Winter Break, and have a wonderful holiday season!
OPEN CLUB SPORTS
BOWLING
Hi everyone! SCU BOWL has had a great season with our first ever coach! We’ve had great success on the lanes, exceeding our expectations competing at SJSU, Fresno State, and Modesto. We have another competition coming up at UC Davis next quarter! Tournament atmospheres are unreal and they are such a great opportunity to compete against many other colleges on the West Coast. We also have the opportunity to travel to Las Vegas to compete with schools all over the nation.
We are open to all skill levels, so if you are interested please contact adho@scu.edu. We’d be happy to share our love and knowledge of bowling with you.
Go Broncos!

SAILING

SCU Sailing had a spectacular fall season! Besides doubling our roster and having the most successful season yet… we have had great success on the water. Attending regattas hosted by UC Berkeley, St. Francis Yacht Club, UC Santa Cruz, and UC Santa Barbara our bronco sailors have redefined team culture and bronco spirit.
We are infinitely excited for our sails to be full heading into winter and spring quarters as we brave the waters and chart our own course.
Broncos country let’s ride! #SAILSCU

SHOTOKAN KARATE
Hey Broncos! The SCU Karate team is working hard, practicing kata (forms) and kumite (sparring) for our upcoming tournament in Yuba City on Sunday, February 1, as well as planning a joint practice with USF and UC Davis later next year. We also had a blast at our end-of-quarter party, where we played board and card games and pool. If you are interested in joining karate, please reach out to jberry@scu.edu. We accept people of all skill levels.

SWIM TEAM
Hi Broncos! SCU Club Swim had a great rest of the quarter, working hard at practice to finish off Fall. We recently had a team dinner at San Pedro Square, which gave us the chance to reflect on a great start to the ‘25-’26 season. Looking forward to next quarter, we have meets at UCLA and Stanford, as well as many fun events planned. It is not too late to join, and we hope to see you in the pool Winter Quarter!

WOMEN'S FIELD HOCKEY
As we wrap up our season, SCU Club Field Hockey is excited to share two wins in our games against Cal Poly SLO (2-1), and UC Davis (2-0)!
Overall, we had such a great Fall Quarter playing the sport we love, adding new members to our team, and improving our skills! Go Broncos!
WOMEN'S CLUB VOLLEYBALL
The Women’s Club Volleyball team kicked off the school year with our first preseason tournament in November at Berkeley’s Cal Classic. We finished off the exciting day by winning the Silver Bracket! Throughout the fall, we’ve been growing together and building momentum as a newly formed team. We’re having a blast playing together and can’t wait for the season to pick up this winter!
